Privacy
GlideClip edits screen recordings inside your web browser. Your videos never leave your computer. This page explains the little we do collect, and why.
What never leaves your computer
- Your video files, their frames and their audio.
- The text GlideClip reads on screen and the transcript of your narration, unless you ask for AI suggestions (below).
- Your blurred copies, rendered videos, projects, series files and redaction reports. These are saved by your browser as ordinary downloads.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address and sign-in details | To create your account and let you sign in. Only when you sign in. | Clerk (sign-in) |
| Your subscription status and payment details | To take payment for Pro. Card details go to Stripe; we never see them. | Stripe, through Clerk Billing |
| Your synced settings (Pro) | So your brand kits, series and usual choices follow you to another computer. Settings only: never videos, scans, transcripts or projects. Stored against a coded ID made from your account; delete them any time on your account page. | GlideClip, on Cloudflare |
| Counts of your AI use | To apply the monthly limit and to keep AI costs in check: the number of requests each month (deleted after 40 days) and, for each request, its time, the model and how much text went in and out, as numbers (kept up to 13 months). Stored against a coded ID made from your account, not your email. Never the text itself. | GlideClip, on Cloudflare |
| Company settings (Enterprise) | For members of a company account: the settings its admin saves (blur rules, brand kit, templates, AI data fields, limits) and the company's own AI key, stored encrypted and used only for that company's AI requests. Whether you're still a member, and your role, is checked with Clerk and remembered for 5 minutes. | GlideClip, on Cloudflare; Clerk |
| Text you send for AI suggestions | To suggest callouts when you turn AI on. Only the transcript, on-screen labels and your script, with every email, phone number, web address, ID and listed name replaced by [REDACTED]. We pass it to Anthropic and don't store or log it. | Anthropic (Claude), through GlideClip's server |
| Standard web server logs | To run and protect the website (for example, to stop abuse). | Cloudflare |
We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies.
What's stored in your browser
- Your GlideClip license (renewed each week while you subscribe) and the email you signed in with, so the editor knows you have Pro.
- Your settings, such as your last-used series and, if you enter one, your own Anthropic API key. Your own key is sent only to Anthropic.
- Sign-in cookies set by Clerk on the account page.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare (hosting), Clerk (sign-in and billing), Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (AI suggestions, only if you use them). Each handles data under its own privacy terms and only for the purpose above.
Your choices
- You can use GlideClip without an account; the free edition doesn't need sign-in.
- You can leave AI suggestions off. Built-in suggestions are made on your computer.
- To delete your account or ask what we hold about you, contact us at support@glideclip.com.
Enterprise and offline copies
GlideClip copies that your organization runs on its own server send nothing to us. The license is checked in the browser without contacting GlideClip.
